The beginning

Ever since I was young, I would pretend to be a teacher, a party planner, anything that had to do with organizing events I wanted to be a part of. I never dreamed of my wedding day but dreamed of doing it for my friends, family, maybe even strangers! I have always had a creative side, having multiple Etsy shops and craft hobbies through the years. They have created an outlet for me to reach people I would have never dreamed of meeting and adding joy to their lives. Flash forward to 2019, a newly engaged Kat, starting to plan her wedding. And boy.. I wish I wasn't so stubborn and reached out for help. Although my venue came with a day of coordinator, a hired coordinator to speak for us would have been a saving grace!

No matter what was thrown my way during the process, I loved every moment. From reaching out to vendors, to designing my table decor. My husband Jason and I had to plan and replan quite a few times due to Illinois shutting down due to the pandemic. But I feel this helped me grow as an event planner rolling with the punches it threw at me! Over the next 4 years I helped friends and families on their big days. I have been told many times I have a way of telling people where to be and what to do while remaining kind and professional.

All of this is what I want to provide to couples to make their big days, well, big! Whether you just need me for the ceremony and reception making sure the timeline flows, or someone to help plan those last couple details, I want to do everything in my power to make your day seamless. I pride myself on being organized, timely, and personable. If you are eloping, having 200+ people, have some unfavorable guests who need to be tended to, I will be that person.

I will make sure each couple has the same dedication I put towards my friends and family. Once you sign on with LYM Events, you are family in my book!
